Google Auto-Suggestions
by James on Jan.18, 2010, under Google Auto Fill
So yeah, google likes to think they are really smart and they know everything about us. They know our bank info (through gmail), they know what sites we visit and they know what we are going to be searching for…
They are so smart that you simply have to type in a couple letters and they will tell you what sentence you are googleing. Welcome to my new segment: Google Auto-Suggestions. Every now and then I will be trying to google something and I will get some absurd auto-suggestions from google. For example today, I was attempting to google “how to get upgraded in a Vegas hotel” and after typing only a few words, I see this:

I’m fairly certain google thinks I’m a woman.

I guess its that time of the year again…got almost 25,000 individual page requests over the past month after hovering around the 1300 mark the rest of the year. Thats a 1900% increase for those of you who are keeping score at home. I’ll try to be better about actually posting non-bowl related items this year.

My Worst Nightmare
by James on Sep.07, 2008, under Normal Post, Uncategorized
Those of you who came to my Superbowl party probably remember that I went into quite a stage of depression after the last Superbowl (See Eli Manning is a bitch). This boycott of football came to an end this morning when I finally decided that I was ready to start watching football again. That was until Tom Brady got hurt in the first drive of the season and is probably out for the season. Now that my Yankees are out of playoff contention, this is the first time in almost a decade that I have no sports to watch until next April. I don’t know what to do with myself, Fantasy Football is the only thing that is entertaining me for the next 6 months, I guess. There better be some good fucking video games coming out in the next few months. I am sad.

I’m The eBay King
by James on Jul.09, 2008, under Uncategorized
I often get a lot of crap for buying the “latest and greatest” electronics right when they come out. While I wish I had a crapload of money to burn, thats simply not the case (especially while I’m working retail). So how do I afford to do this? By taking advantage of lazy eBay sellers who don’t want to take 5 minutes to make their auctions look nice. Check out my latest eBay ad for my Macbook. That litterally took me 12 minutes to make and my computer sold for 30% higher than similar Macbooks. Anyway, here is a mini timeline of how I can afford new crap:
The History of my laptops:

My first mac, his name was Jack. I bought him brand new from some sketchy guy on craigslist. It was probably stolen.

I sold Jack one year later and made a $150 Profit on it.

I replaced Jack with the Black Macbook (and stopped naming my computers). It was a good computer and got me through the last few years of college.

The Macbook started to get old, so I decided to sell it 2 years later and STILL made a $150 profit on it.

Now I have my Macbook Pro. I’ll probably hang on to it until a new version comes out, but I’m sure I’ll make a profit on this guy when I sell it as well.
Not the most intersting post in the world, but getting a brand new computer every few years for $150 isnt too shabby either. Goodnight people.
One of those days

Definitely one of those frustrating days where everything seems to go wrong. Its times like this that I wonder why I am working retail after my parents paid so much money to send me to college.
